The Heritage Commission supports historic preservation in Morris County by providing information about historic sites and their role in the county's history. Funding for historic preservation is available from the Morris County Historic Preservation Trust Fund. See www.morrispreservation.org.
The Heritage Commission has information on many of the historic sites and structures in the county that are included in the Morris County Historic Sites Survey (39 volumes). The Commission publishes a series of tour brochures featuring a brief history of each town in the county with photographs and notes on its historic sites. These Historic Highlights brochures have been completed for about two-thirds of the county's 39 municipalities. Contact the Commission for more information.
Since 1975, The Heritage Commission has placed markers at significant
historic sites throughout the county. These sites are featured
in the Commission publication, Historic
Sites of Morris County, New Jersey. For information

Center partner to publish an annual list of the Ten Most Endangered Sites in Morris County. This representative list draws attention to Morris County’s
historic assets and promotes public and private participation in the maintenance and preservation of these valuable sites. Local citizens, groups,
and organizations are encouraged to forward their site suggestions for consideration in 2010.
