About Us

We secure funding for road, bridge, railroad, bicycle, and pedestrian projects. We also plan, design, and coordinate transportation projects.

Engineering staff:

  • designs, constructs, re-constructs, and paves county roads.
  • bridge and culvert construction, drainage, and repair specifications
  • designs and constructs County building facilities and traffic signals on County roads

Transportation staff:

  • conduct studies and coordinate planning efforts with state agencies, municipalities, county departments, and the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority
  • They also supervise three county-owned freight railroads.

The Morris County Board of Transportation advises the Division on its activities. It's appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.

NewBus Newark Study – Public Meeting

NJ Transit ‘s NewBus Newark Study will reimagine local bus service in the Newark region. The study will analyze 38 routes, including the 29, 70, 73, and 79 buses that serve Morris County.

NJ Transit will provide an overview of the project and ask for feedback from the public at a public meeting on April 8. Visit the NewBus project website for more information and to register for the meeting.

NJTPA Plan 2050 – Survey

The North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) is asking for public input as it drafts its next long-range regional transportation plan, Plan 2050. The plan will detail new programs, and recommend policies and transportation investments during the next 30 years. All residents are encouraged to visit the Plan 2050 website during the next several months to participate in online meetings and surveys. Pequannock-to-Wayne Pedestrian and Bike Path Project – Public Info and Audio Session
