Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders.

NewBridge Services offers this valuable course to schools, houses of worship and community organizations.

General Course

This training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.

Mental Health First Aid now includes expanded content on trauma, addiction and self-care.

Youth Mental Health First Aid

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorder in youth.

The 6-hour training gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to children and adolescents who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem, and help connect them to the appropriate care.

Youth Mental Health First Aid training now includes expanded content on trauma, addiction and self-care, and the impact of social media and bullying.

  • Teachers/School staff
  • Coaches
  • Camp counselors
  • Youth group leaders
  • Parents
  • Anyone who works with youth

Three Learning Options

VIRTUAL: First aiders will complete a 2-hour, self-paced online course, and then participate in a 4.5 to 5.5-hour, instructor-led video conference.

BLENDED LEARNING: After completing a 2-hour, self-paced online course, first aiders will participate in a 4.5-hour, in-person, instructor-led class.

IN PERSON: First aiders will receive their training as an 6-hour, instructor-led, in-person course.
