Morris County Surrogate Heather J. Darling led a well-attended and highly engaging educational webinar this week on wills, trusts, and estates, drawing nearly 100 participants eager to learn more about these important topics. Hosted by the Morris County Library, the event was part of an ongoing effort to educate the public and promote greater understanding of the services provided by the Morris County Surrogate's Office. Surrogate Darling addressed dozens of audience questions—ranging from the differences between wills and revocable trusts to the timeline for probating a will. She emphasized the importance of having a will and dispelled common misconceptions about probate, explaining that it is a vital and manageable process that should not be avoided.
Joining the event were Deputy Surrogate Chris Luongo and Chief of Staff Christina Ramirez, who both contributed valuable insight into the office’s operations. Deputy Luongo highlighted tools available to the public, including the ability to search probated estates directly through the Surrogate’s Office website. The webinar served as another example of the office’s commitment to providing the most effective and compassionate services to the community, while reinforcing its role as a trusted resource for residents navigating these important issues.
