61-yr-old Charged w/ Sexual Assault, Endangering the Welfare of Child

Acting Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Christoph Kimker and Rockaway Borough Police Department Chief Pepperman, announce the arrest of Robert Grow, age 61, of Rockaway Borough on March 8, 2021. The defendant has been charged with Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(3)(b), a crime of the second degree; Endangering the Welfare of a Child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a crime of the third degree; and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(2), a crime of the third degree. 

It is alleged that between December 1, 2018 and March 8, 2019, the defendant engaged in multiple sexual acts with the female victim. The victim was 17 years of age when the acts occurred and was employed at Potbelly’s Restaurant in Rockaway, NJ.  It is further alleged that the defendant was her employer and owner of the restaurant at the time of the assaults and had supervisory power over her. The defendant has been charged by warrant-complaint and was released from the Morris County Correctional Facility yesterday in accordance with Criminal Justice Reform. As part of the defendant’s release from custody, he was ordered not to have any contact with the victim and/or unsupervised contact with minors other than his own children.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent until he or she is proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
