Fire Under Investigation on Lamerson Road in Chester

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Christoph Kimker, Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, and Chester Police Department Chief Thomas Williver announce the investigation of a residential fire that occurred on September 7, 2021 at 25 Lamerson Road, Chester NJ.

At approximately 10:44 p.m. on September 7, 2021, a Chester Police Officer on routine patrol observed a fire at 25 Lamerson Road.  Members of the Chester Volunteer Fire Company were able to extinguish the fire with the assistance of fire departments from Peapack-Gladstone, Far Hills, Bedminster, Liberty Corner, Pottersville, New Vernon, Ralston, Mendham Borough, Brookside, Fairmount, Flanders, Budd Lake, and Randolph.

The circumstances of the fire remain under investigation.  However, there is no suspected danger to the public and no injuries were reported.

In addition to the fire companies, members of the Chester Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, the New Jersey Fire Marshal’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Arson and Environmental Crimes Unit participated in the investigation.
