Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Christoph K. Kimker, Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, and Morris County Police Chiefs Association President and Washington Township Police Department Chief Jeffrey Almer would like to make a joint statement concerning a trend on TikTok targeting this date.

There have been unspecific threats on social media platforms, namely TikTok, discussing the possibility of violent acts occurring in schools today, Dec. 17, 2021. We would like to make it clear that there have been NO credible threats against Morris County schools.

Working collaboratively with our law enforcement partners at the federal, state, county and local levels, our agencies will remain vigilant. We encourage anyone with information about a possible threat to school safety to contact their local police department and/or school resource officer so any concerns can immediately be investigated.

Anyone seeking to contact Morris County Prosecutor’s Office may do so at 973-285-6200 or the Morris County Sheriff’s Office at 973-285-6610.
