MCPO Thanks Partners for Successful Operation of COVID-19 Centers

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, First Assistant Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood, Chief of Detectives Chris Kimker, and Deputy Chief of Detectives Robert McNally would like to thank our partner law enforcement and healthcare agencies for their roles in the successful operation of the Morris County Regional COVID-19 Vaccination Center and Morris County COVID-19 Testing facility at the County College of Morris.
Launched in January 2021, the Regional COVID-19 Vaccination Center operated in conjunction with Atlantic Health System at Rockaway Townsquare Mall until July 16, when the last inoculation was administered. Morris County has been leading the state in the percentage of residents vaccinated. The Regional COVID-19 Vaccination Center alone issued more than 340,000 shots, including as many as 4,600 inoculations per day.
The Morris County COVID-19 Testing facility operated with Vault Health at the County College of Morris also ceased operations on July 16. At its peak, it accommodated hundreds of people each day and over 21,000 COVID-19 tests have been administered since it opened.
Prosecutor Carroll expressed his sincere appreciation for the contributions of the following agencies which allowed these vital services to operate safety - Morris County Department of Law and Public Safety; Morris County Division of Public Health; Morris County Office of Emergency Management; Morris County Medical Reserve Corps; 1st Squadron, 102nd Cavalry Regiment of the NJ National Guard; Morris County Prosecutor`s Office; Morris County Sheriff`s Office; Atlantic Health Systems; FEMA; New Jersey Incident Management Team; and New Jersey Department of Health.
Prosecutor Carroll and Sheriff James M. Gannon expressed their personal appreciation, “In a time of an extreme national emergency, this effort represents a shining example of public/private cooperation to protect our citizens. The continuous operation at these two locations provided critical testing and vaccination services that enabled a large population to effectively overcome the challenge of COVID-19. The dedicated personnel from the various agencies and organizations served admirably and demonstrated profound courage and commitment at a time our communities needed such persons to step forward. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and Morris County Sheriff’s Office salutes and commends these fine examples of professionals who gave so much to us all.”
