Police Seeking Information in Connection with Morristown Homicide

 Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Christoph Kimker, Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, and Morristown Police Department Acting Chief Darnell Richardson are seeking information regarding an August 18, 2021 homicide occurring on Clyde Potts Drive, Morristown, NJ.

On Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at approximately 1:03AM, the Morristown Police Department received a 911 call regarding a shooting on Clyde Potts Drive, Morristown NJ.  First responders located a male in the parking lot near 28 Clyde Potts Drive, Morristown, NJ, with multiple fatal gunshot wounds.  Following an autopsy, Morris County Deputy Medical Examiner Dr. Di Wang, M.D. determined the manner of death to be homicide.  The victim’s name and identity will not be released at this time.

Police have identified a person of interest.  The investigation is active and ongoing. No further information will be released at this time in order to protect the integrity of the investigation. However, when appropriate, additional details of the investigation and the coordination and assistance with our fellow law enforcement agencies will be released.

The Prosecutor’s Office indicated that numerous law enforcement agencies have participated in this investigation, including members of the Morristown Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, the New Jersey State Police, Oklahoma State Police and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
