Attorney ID Cards

The Morris County Sheriff’s Office has implemented the state of New Jersey’s attorney identification card program designed to expedite attorney access into the Morris County Courthouse. The ID card, available to attorneys with offices in Morris County, costs $25.00 and the card is renewable every five years.

To obtain an ID card in Morris County, please visit the Sheriff’s Administration Division located in the courthouse. At this office, you will be asked to complete our Attorney Identification Card Information form (including providing your New Jersey Bar number which may be obtained by calling 609-984-2111 and selecting option 4). For your convenience, we have also made the form available online so it can be completed in advance of your visit.

In order to utilize this form, you will need the freely available Adobe Reader software installed on your computer, version 7 or higher. This is a “fillable form” which may be filled out on your computer and saved to your hard drive. A fillable form isn’t the same as electronic filing and it is not possible to electronically submit a form—you must print it out after entering the information.

Payment of the $25.00 fee may be made by cash or check. If paying by check, please make your check payable to the “County of Morris.”

Please note that unless the new card is purchased, expedited access to courthouse will not be available. Expedited access and entrance with your new ID card will be available through the Morris County garage employee pedestrian entrance located on Schuyler Place and then through the second floor bridge between the Administration and Records Building and the courthouse.
