The County Medical Examiner's Office conducts all Investigations of unattended death scenes; autopsies performed by the Medical Examiner and his Deputy etc. The Clerk will perform high level administrative tasks to support the office and the Medical Examiner.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Type autopsy and all related reports.
- Listen and interpret dictation by the Medical Examiner.
- Handle phone coverage for the office.
- Administrative tasks as needed; filing, opening mail, etc.
Strong computer skills. Must be proficient in Word. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent communication skills. Ability to learn and use other software programs. Applicant must be aware that the content of reports may contain difficult or graphic descriptions that attribute to death.
