Description

Office on Aging, Disabilities, and Community Programming - Veterans Service Office offers serval resources to the County's Veterans population. We help Morris County veterans and their families with their VA benefits and entitlements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of routine field and office work involved in Veterans and community-oriented programs
  • Assists Veterans and their families in obtaining government aid and support services, or makes referrals to other agencies
  • Provides referrals to other agencies for additional services
  • Provides assistance to residents within the scope of agency functions
  • Assists in gathering/disseminating community relations information and aids in making community residents aware of existing programs available to them
  • Meets with residents to help determine whether their circumstances may qualify them for assistance with various agencies/programs
  • May attend community meetings
  • May disseminate information on various community-oriented agencies.
  • Prepares reports of program activities.
  • Establishes and maintains essential records and files.
  • Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.

Qualifications

Appointees will be required to possess a driverʼs license valid in New Jersey. Previous military experience, secondary education and/or working in a health, human services or behavior health related field preferred
