Description

Morris County is seeking an experienced self-motivated IT manager. Successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of IT professionals responsible for supporting County critical business applications, developing solutions for existing and new IT requirements, developing and maintaining a variety of SQL County databases, determining effective CLOUD solutions for legacy applications and business processes. Candidate will be responsible to remain current with information technologies. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Required demonstratable core competencies:

  • Applying Information Technology to enable Business Process Reengineering (BPR).
  • Expert command of the OSI model.
  • Cyber Security knowledge.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Good/practical understanding of available Cloud Services, such as but not limited to, SaaS products and services.
  • Strategic thinker.
  • Proven Leadership Skills.

Examples of Work:

  • Reviews and evaluates all Software Change Requests (SCRs) to includes the daily monitoring and assignment of Workplace Technology trouble tickets.
  • Plans organizes and directs studies of existing and planned data processing applications to determine capacity, utilization, potential uses and need or existing and/or proposed upgrades or replacement.
  • Develops annual and 5-year, prioritized, project plans and budget(s).
  • Establishes and implements County software policies.
  • Supervises feasibility studies; reviews detailed analysis of functions to determine advisability of adopting a particular data processing approach.
  • Supervises project work assignments of staff and has responsibility for recommending and assigning appropriate personnel to projects.
  • Prepares and supervises the preparation of charts, programs, and instructions as needed to illustrate, explain and implement data processing procedures and programs; studies procedural difficulties and operating problems and recommends revisions in the solution.
  • Supervises department systems analysis, design, and related matters and acts as an advisor to management in matters involving automation of work processes.

Qualifications

Required Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of experience, two (2) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity in either a corporate or a government I.T. agency involving the planning, acquisition, installation, and delivery of Enterprise Software products and services to include on-premises and CLOUD solutions.

Required Education

  • Minimum: A Bachelor of Science degree. Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college would be helpful in the position.
  • Preferred:  Master of Science degree in Computer Science or Management of Information Technologies

Licenses

Applicants must have a valid New Jersey driver's license.

Preferred Certifications

  • ITIL 4 Foundations

Additional Knowledge

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Project.
  • Good people skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Knowledge sets include

Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project, Microsoft operating system (OS) software, System Documentation, Software Testing, Systems Analysis.

Nature of Work

Duration:   Full Time, Regular  Working Hour per Week:  35 hour(s) Normal Work Shifts:   First (Day)  Overtime work might be required.
