Don't Miss Morristown Festival on the Green 2021 This Sunday!
Published on October 01, 2021
Fifteen separate Morris County government agencies will join the Morristown Festival on the Green 2021 as it kicks off Sunday afternoon with more than 150 exhibitors in downtown Morristown.
The Morristown Partnership moved forward with the annual festival this year following a hiatus due to the pandemic in 2020 and after the Morris County Board of County Commissioners pledged $100,000 to help vendors and participants deal with the soaring costs of tents and other equipment necessary to hold the popular event. The event has traditionally attracted more than 60,000 visitors annually since 1994.
With the weather predicted to be warm and bright, the Morristown Partnership anticipates a successful turnout, but the festival will be held rain or shine, with a host of local restaurants ready to serve up a wide variety of foods from stations around the Green. A beer tent also will be on site for adults, as non-stop entertainment is provided for guests of all ages, including live music on four separate stages, carnival games and children’s amusements.
Morris County’s Navigating Hope Van and the Sheriff’s Hope One Vehicle will be parked along Washington Street for guests to visit and learn about their life-saving operations. Other Morris County agencies ready to meet and greet curious visitors in the same area are the Sheriff, Clerk’s Office, Library, Surrogate’s Office, Heritage Commission, Public Health, Human Services, Board of Elections, EMS, Employment Training, Hazmat, Municipal Utilities Authority and Mosquito Control.
The annual event attracts visitors from throughout North Jersey and beyond, at the same time boosting the area economy, promoting tourism and assisting businesses in the area. The festival will run from noon to 5 p.m., Oct. 3, 2021, this Sunday.
Funding being provided by the Morris County Board of County Commissioners to assist the event will come from the $95 million in American Rescue Plan funds dedicated to the county.
