Are you a caregiver in New Jersey? Make your voice heard. Attend caregiver sessions on March 6, 10, and 18.

Caregivers are invited to join New Jersey Caregiver Task Force Listening Sessions in March to provide feedback and insight on caregiver support services currently available in the state, and to provide recommendations for improving and expanding caregiver services.

The Task Force has announced that it will be conducting three virtual Caregiver Listening Session for which caregivers may register to speak for five minutes, listen or share written testimony. Register here to attend or speak. Sessions will be livestreamed.

The sessions will be held:

  • Saturday, March 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 10, from noon to 3 p.m.
  • Thursday, March 18, from 5 to 8 p.m.

“Caregivers are instrumental in allowing seniors and individuals with disabilities to age in place, providing supports and assistance to their family and friends, said Christine Hellyer, Director of the Morris County Office on Aging, Disabilities, and Community Programs. “The demand for services provided by caregivers is increasing and caregivers are experiencing more stress. It is important that the task force hear varied perspectives of caregiver needs, to more fully understand the demands and needs of this population.”

Caregivers are invaluable to the people they support, which can include older adults and individuals with disabilities, chronic health conditions or mental health issues. The task force was created by Governor Phil Murphy and the New Jersey State Legislature to determine the current availability of caregiver support services and provide recommendations for improving and expanding caregiver support services in New Jersey.
