The inspection, which is conducted annually, examines the physical structure of the facility and ensures policies are being applied to the high standard required by the NJDOC.

Community Connections Celebrates One Year

Morris County Gun Buy Back Program Collected 674 Firearms

The Morris County Gun Buy Back program, held over the past weekend, resulted in the collection of 674 unwanted firearms, most of which were fully operable. The two-day exchange was funded by Morris County Crime Stoppers, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, the Morris County Board of County Commissioners and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police Unity Tour, Born In Morris County, Rides Again to Washington DC

Morris County Undersheriff Lt. Mark Spitzer was among the 1,500 Police Unity Tour riders who set out Tuesday on the annual 300-mile ride to Washington, D.C. to pay tribute to police officers killed in the line of duty. The ride coincides with May 15, which is National Peace Officers Memorial Day, as well as National Police Week, observed this year from May 15 through May 21.

Morris County Re-Entry Programs to be Featured at National Convention

Two, heralded Morris County re-entry programs, both designed to help ex-offenders successfully return into the community, will be highlighted next month at the 2022 National Sheriff’s Association Winter Conference in Washington, D.C., Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon announced. The programs are Community Connections and the STAR (Successful Transition and Re-Entry) Program.

Morris County Trains First Class of School Resource Officers
