Morris County Surrogate Heather Darling Remembers September 11th

On the 23rd anniversary of the September 11th attacks, Morris County Surrogate Heather Darling reflects on that solemn day, honoring the lives lost and the heroes who responded. The Morris County Surrogate’s Office joins the entire nation in remembering the nearly 3,000 individuals who perished and the countless first responders who bravely risked their lives to save others.

The events of 9/11 remain a defining moment in our nation’s history, and the enduring impact is felt deeply across communities, especially in New Jersey. Many Morris County residents were directly affected by the tragedy, either losing loved ones or working as first responders. We stand in unity, paying tribute to their sacrifice and resilience.

Surrogate Darling encourages residents to participate in local memorial ceremonies and observe moments of reflection to honor the victims, survivors, and all those whose lives were forever changed.
