Published on June 12, 2023

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Roxbury Police Chief Dean Adone provide an update on the missing persons investigation involving a 46-year-old female from Roxbury, New Jersey.

Lara Emanuele, of Roxbury, New Jersey, was last seen in Roxbury on June 7. Her vehicle was located at the Holiday Inn Express on Howard Boulevard the morning of June 8.

A previous press release incorrectly spelled her name. The correct spelling is Emanuele.

Emanuele is a 46-year-old Caucasian female, 5 feet 6 inches in height, with red hair, weighing approximately 125 pounds.

A coordinated operation including the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Roxbury Police Department, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, New Jersey State Police Aviation Bureau, and New Jersey Search and Rescue, which is comprised of law enforcement and trained civilians, has been underway since last Thursday. Areas searched include the Berkshire Valley State Wildlife Management Area near where her vehicle was located.

The search has also involved relentless investigative efforts on the part of the MCPO Missing Persons Unit.

Prosecutor Carroll said, “In response to the outpouring of community support, especially with the offers to assist in the search for Emanuele, at this time we are asking that the public rely on the law enforcement agencies and trained civilians to continue handling the search.  The search area is comprised of heavily wooded terrain and there are areas that may have dangerous wildlife.  Trained K-9 dogs being utilized to track in the search area and having unknown individuals in that area could impact the search efforts.”

“I’d like to assure the public that all capabilities available to law enforcement are being utilized to locate Lara. We understand the public’s concerns, and we will do our best to update the community whenever possible. I want to thank all of the law enforcement personnel involved for their dedication and tireless efforts in this continuing search.”

Roxbury Township Police Department is asking that any hunters who have trail cameras in the Berkshire Valley State Wildlife Management Area to please review them to determine if the camera recorded anyone from Wednesday June 7 through the present.  Any hunters with information should contact the Roxbury Police Department at 973-448-2100 or Det. Gaboda at [email protected].

Morris County authorities encourage the public to continue sharing information on social media platforms about Emanuele and to continue to provide information to law enforcement that would assist us in locating Emanuele.

Anyone with information regarding Emanuele’s whereabouts or this investigation is encouraged to make contact with the Roxbury Police Department at 973-448-2100 or the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Missing Persons Unit On-Call Detective through the Morris County Communications Center at 973-285-2900.
