Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Morris County Prosecutor's Office Acting Chief of Investigations Christoph Kimker and Chief Andrew Caggiano of the Montville Township Police Department announce and confirm an ongoing investigation into an incident that occurred in Montville Township. On June 26, 2019, at approximately 3:30 p.m., law enforcement was dispatched to Lake Valhalla Club located at 13 Vista Road, Montville New Jersey on a report of a possible drowning.
While the investigation remains ongoing, the fatality of a twelve (12) year old male has been confirmed. At this time, the identity of this individual will not be released.
No further updates are anticipated today. The incident is not deemed to be suspicious at this time.
The incident is being investigated by the Montville Township Police Department, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit, and the Morris County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
