Hanover Township Man Sentenced in Connection w/ Online Chat w/ Child

Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Hanover Township Police Chief Michael Loock announce the sentencing of Brian J. Cariddi, 40, of Hanover Township, in connection with multiple online communications made with a child located in North Carolina

On January 8, 2025, Cariddi pled guilty to one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a second-degree offense. On April 29, 2025, the Honorable Claudia Jones imposed a sentence of three (3) years in New Jersey State Prison, with 18 months of parole ineligibility, and Parole Supervision for Life. Upon release, Cariddi will be subject to Megan’s Law and is not to have any contact with the victim.

Between December 11, 2022, and January 10, 2023, Cariddi engaged in sexually explicit conversations with the child victim (age 9). Cariddi exposed his intimate parts during online conversations, and asked the child victim to send images of the child’s intimate parts.

As a result of the investigation, Cariddi was arrested and charged on March 8, 2024. He was detained in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending disposition of this case.

Prosecutor Carroll acknowledges the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Hanover Township Police Department for their efforts in the successful prosecution of this case.
