Law Enforcement Confirms Fatal Crash on Route 46 in Roxbury

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Christoph K. Kimker, and Roxbury Police Chief Dean Adone announce and confirm a driver involved in a crash on Route 46 in Roxbury on March 15, 2022 has succumbed to her injuries.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., the Roxbury Police Department were dispatched to the area of Route 46 and Phillips Way on a report of a motor vehicle crash.  Further investigation has revealed that a tractor trailer was exiting the Citgo gas station onto Route 46 West. The tractor portion of the truck was completely in the roadway at the time, and a single-occupant car traveling on Route East 46 subsequently crashed directly into the truck.

The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old female from Netcong, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities are in the process of notifying the victim’s next of kin.

There were no other vehicles involved in the collision and no other injuries reported.

The incident is being investigated by the Roxbury Police Department, Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit.
