On September 21, 2018, Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Samantha DeNegri and Detective Supervisor Patrick LaGuerre of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office visited Randolph Middle School to educate the students on bullying, diversity, and internet safety. The instruction was provided to the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who have recently begun the school year.
Each grade attended the program for approximately one hour, and were instructed on how to properly communicate on the internet, what constitutes bullying and the repercussions of bullying, as well as the importance of embracing diversity. Students were encouraged to participate, and many had questions concerning the topics covered. This is the second middle school that SAP DeNegri and Det/Sup LaGuerre have visited in the early stages of the school year to educate students, and they have multiple other school assemblies scheduled in the near future.
Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp stated, The Morris County Prosecutor's Office will continue to work hand in hand with local school systems to further the education of the next generation of leaders. Proper internet safety and understanding diversity are both extremely important for these students to learn, and Supervising Assistant Prosecutor DeNegri and Detective Supervisor LaGuerre's efforts are applauded.
