On March 8, 2019, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp, and Detectives Muhammad Thomas and Ashley Gonzalez of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office participated in Law Enforcement Night at Mennen Arena in Morristown, New Jersey. The New Jersey Coalition for Education and Positive Choices organized this event as an outreach program to build strong relationships between the law enforcement agencies of Morris County and the community.
Over 400 Morris County residents attended the approximately three hour event. Children and teenagers in attendance had the opportunity to meet with the officers and discuss the various methods utilized throughout Morris County to maintain a safe community. There were also multiple types of law enforcement equipment and vehicles that were on display for the public.
Prosecutor Knapp said, Fostering close relationships with the Morris County community is of the utmost importance to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. We want our residents to feel comfortable with the dedicated law enforcement professionals working here. The younger residents who attended Law Enforcement Night have the potential to be the next great leaders in our community and this event provided them with an opportunity to learn first-hand from our law enforcement professionals.
