Members of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office awarded NJSCOA 2019 Outstanding Service Award

On November 19, 2019, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Acting Chief of Investigations Chris Kimker, Chief Assistant Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood and Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Meg Rodriguez recognized members of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office who will be awarded the New Jersey Sex Crimes Officers Association (NJSCOA) 2019 Outstanding Service Award. The team was recognized for their noble efforts that led to the apprehension, prosecution and conviction of Aldophus Mims.
In September, Mr. Mims, age 42 of Charlotte, North Carolina, was sentenced to forty years in New Jersey State Prison. Two months earlier, a jury found Mr. Mims guilty of four counts of 1st degree Human Trafficking, three counts of 1st degree Promoting Prostitution, two counts of 2nd degree Sexual Assault, one count of 3rd degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and two counts of 3rd degree Distribution of Heroin. Mr. Mims must serve forty years before he is eligible for parole, and is subject to registration pursuant to Megan's Law and Parole Supervision for Life.
The NJSCOA is recognizing the following Morris County Prosecutor's Office members for excellence in pursuit of this case:

- Victim Advocate Amanda Holloway
Honoring persons that exemplify excellence in the field of Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigations, the 2019 Outstanding Service Award will be presented at the NJSCOA 22nd Annual Conference in Atlantic City on Dec. 4.
Prosecutor Knapp said The dedicated men and women of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes and Child Endangerment Unit are deservedly receiving this recognition for exemplifying excellence. Each and every one of them contributed to bringing this defendant to justice. The scourge of human trafficking needs to be vigorously prosecuted and I thank these honorees for their outstanding work.
