Morris County Prosecutor Honors United States Military Veterans Serving at the Morris County Prosecutor's Office

In honor of Veterans Day, several years ago Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp began the annual tradition of recognizing U.S. Military Veterans who serve in the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. The program was the idea of then Chief of Staff Daniel Pfeiffer, himself an Army Veteran.

On November 13, 2019, Prosecutor Knapp and his command staff again celebrated Veterans Day with members of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office who served in the United States Armed Forces, or currently serve as a member in a branch of the United States Military Reserves, before pursuing a career with the Prosecutor's Office. Thirteen (13) members have been recognized as U.S. Veterans. Recently-hired Detective Owen Curry was presented with a certificate of recognition for his service by Prosecutor Knapp.

Appointed to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office in November 2019, Detective Owen M. Curry was also recognized as being the newest MCPO member to be added to the Veteran's Honor Roll. The following information reflects his service accomplishments.

July 2008 April 2012: United States Marine Corps, Field Artillery Cannon Crewman. Honorably discharged in April 2012.

  • May 2009 to December 2009: Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom
  • July 2010 to January 2011: Okinawa, Japan
