Morris County Prosecutor's Office Presents at Hometown Security Seminar

On July 31, 2019, the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP) in partnership with the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, Morris County Sheriff's Office, Randolph Township Police Department, and the County College of Morris held a Hometown Security Seminar in Dragonetti Auditorium at the County College of Morris. Speakers included New Jersey State Assemblyman Anthony M. Bucco, Morris County First Assistant Prosecutor Tom Zelante, Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon, Randolph Township Chief of Police David Stokoe, Morris County Prosecutor's Office Director of Critical Infrastructure Patrick Owens, and members of the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness.
The NJOHSP Hometown Security Initiative was created in 2016 with the goal of providing businesses, residents, and community leaders with important information and resources to improve community security. Topics that were covered in the program included Facility Assessments and Protective Measures, Recognizing and Reporting Suspicious Activity, Active Shooter Preparedness, and Preparedness Tools and Resources for the Community. Following the various informational sessions, a question and answer session was held for the over 50 community leaders in attendance.
Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp said, Preparation plays an enormous role in the security of our community. I would like to thank the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness and all of our local law enforcement partners for hosting a beneficial and educational event for Morris County residents.
