Published on September 06, 2017

This Thursday marks the 33rd anniversary of the disappearance of Edward DuBarry, then in his mid-thirties, from Montville Township.

Notwithstanding the passage of time, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, the Montville Township Police Department and the DuBarry family are seeking help in finding Edward DuBarry, who was reported missing on September 7, 1984.

DuBarry, a lifelong Montville resident, was last seen that day in the area of Church Lane and Two Bridges Road in the Towaco section of the township. At the time, he was driving a 1974, white Chevrolet pick-up truck. The truck was discovered a week later, on September 14, at Resort Point on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware Water Gap.

DuBarry has a scar on his chin, right elbow and numerous scars on his fingers. He also has upper dentures and a previously fractured wrist.

The investigation has revealed that DuBarry's credit card was used to pay for a room at the Howard Johnson Hotel at 551, Route 211 East, in Middletown, N.Y. on the evening of September 7. His credit card was also used two other times on September 7 at the Columbia Truck Stop at 2 Simpson Road in Columbia and at Bartco Penn Petroleum, 10 Stella Street in Matamoras, Pa. Additionally, the credit card was used four days later, on September 11, at the Pompton Plains Shell in Pompton Plains.

Over the last 33 years, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and the Montville Township Police Department have remained committed to finding DuBarry. During the course of the investigation, the prosecutor's office and the police department have worked with numerous law enforcement agencies, including the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit, the National Park Service, the Pequannock Police Department and the Middletown, N.Y. Police Department.

The public is asked to assist the DuBarry family, which continues to work tirelessly with law enforcement to locate Edward.
