Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Pursues Re-Accreditation

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll announces that a team from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP) will be conducting an assessment on all aspects of Morris County Prosecutor’s Office policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services. The NJSACOP, through its New Jersey Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission, is a legitimate authority and accreditation agency in the State of New Jersey. 

During the assessment, which includes an off-site review of accreditation files followed by an on-site visit, the assessors must verify that the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office has complied with over (100) professional standards established by the NJSACOP, in order to achieve re-accredited status. Re-accreditation certification is valid for a (3) year period during which time the office must continue to comply with established accreditation standards.  The on-site visit will occur on Monday April 25, 2022.

Prosecutor Carroll indicated, “Among other benefits realized by the program, accreditation enhances law enforcement and office operations at all levels by enabling personnel to operate efficiently and effectively, enhances the delivery of professional services to the residents of Morris County through adherence to contemporary professional standards, and mitigates civil liability exposure.”

As part of the on-site assessment, members of the general public and employees are invited to offer comments by calling (973) 285-6272 on Monday April 25, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Telephone comments are limited to (5) minutes and must address the Office’s ability to comply with NJSACOP accreditation standards.  Callers may remain anonymous if desired.
