MCPO Recognizes National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

Acting Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll and Chief of Detectives Chris Kimker acknowledged the dedication and perseverance of Morris County’s telecommunications staff during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

On April 15, 2021, Acting Prosecutor Carroll, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Kimker, Chief Assistant Prosecutor Brad Seabury, Sergeant James Bruno, and Captain Jan-Michael Monrad visited the Morris County Communications Center to present members with sweatshirts and a letter recognizing their service, and in particular, Michael Thomson and Dawn Agens, and the support provided to the MCPO Special Operations Division.

First launched in 1981 in Contra Costa County California, National Public Safety Telecommunications Week is intended to honor and celebrate the work of telecommunications personnel and the role they serve in their communities.

Acting Prosecutor Carroll said, “Telecommunicators are not always the most visible members of the law enforcement family, but their commitment and professionalism make a positive impact on the lives of Morris County residents every day. The MCCC operators have made several of our initiatives and operations possible, especially Operation Helping Hand. These operations are labor intensive, not only during operational hours for the dispatchers working with numerous task force personnel combatting the opioid epidemic, and the partnership we enjoy in the planning phases as well.”
