Presentation on the Opiate and Heroin Epidemic Given by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office in Pequannock Township

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp announces a community event in Pequannock Township to address the opiate and heroin epidemic.

Organized by the Community Partners for Hope, partnering organizations include Our Savior Lutheran Church, Good Shepherd Episcopal Church of Lincoln Park and Montville, Chilton Medical Center, New Bridge Services, Pequannock Valley Rotary, First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains, Suburban Woman's Club of Pompton Plains, Women's Hands in Mission, Pequannock Municipal Alliance, Pequannock Township Coalition, and the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The event, which is open to the public, is scheduled for Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Friendship Hall, First Reformed Church, 529 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444.

Speakers will include Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp who will provide opening remarks, followed by a presentation on the opiate and heroin epidemic given by Morris County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Brad Seabury. After the presentation and from a medical viewpoint, Dr. Phillip Devadan, Medical Director of Chilton Medical Center's Pediatric Emergency Department, will discuss his experiences with the opiate and heroin epidemic. The audience will also hear a first-hand account of how heroin addiction affected one family. At the conclusion of the event, Prosecutor Knapp and Chief Assistant Prosecutor Seabury will be answering questions from the audience about the epidemic, and how the Morris County Prosecutor's Office is combating the problem.
