Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp and Chief Assistant Prosecutor Brad Seabury joined WMTR's show titled, Ask the Expert, hosted by Jessie Frees on Sunday, May 19, 2019. The last time that Prosecutor Knapp and CAP Seabury were on the show in October, they discussed the success of Operation Take Back over the last year, in which the public was encouraged to turn in unused or expired prescription medicines for proper disposal.
Sunday's program followed the same vein of last interview, as Prosecutor Knapp and CAP Seabury discussed the Heroin and Opioid Epidemic in Morris County, as well as the initiatives implemented by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and their community partners to combat this Epidemic. One such initiative is Operation Helping Hand in which law enforcement agencies throughout the state offered substance use treatment as an alternative to incarceration for those arrested for drug offenses over the period of the grant. They also discussed the New Jersey State Police Heroin and Opioid Task Force, whose main goal is to target for-profit drug dealers throughout the state. School safety tips were also provided by Prosecutor Knapp and CAP Seabury.
Prosecutor Knapp stated, As always, it was a pleasure to join Jessie for her show. It is important for our office to share the life-saving initiatives implemented throughout Morris County and the State, and Jessie's show provides a useful platform to reach the residents of Morris County. We hope that residents of our county were able to tune in and receive this valuable information.
