Rockaway Township Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Murder of Wife

Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp announces that David Noll, 54 years old of Rockaway Township, pled guilty today to First Degree Attempted Murder and Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in connection with an attack on his wife on November 18, 2010. He also pled guilty to Fourth Degree Contempt for violation of a no contact bail condition.

In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted shooting his wife three times: once in the back, once in the chest, and once in the buttocks at their home located in Rockaway Township, New Jersey.

Under the terms of the plea agreement, the State will recommend that the defendant be sentenced to 10 years in State Prison, 8 ½ years of which must be served pursuant to the No Early Release Act along with a 1-year consecutive prison term on the Contempt charge.

Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Tia Manochio represented the State in the plea agreement.

The Honorable Mary Whipple presided over the plea. The defendant remains in the custody of the Morris County Correctional Facility pending sentencing, which is scheduled for April 12, 2013.
