The Morris County Prosecutor’s Special Enforcement Unit / Narcotics Task Force was recognized by the New Jersey Narcotics Enforcement Officers Association (NJNEOA) at their annual conference this week.

Detective Supervisor Jimmy Atoche was selected as the 2022 Northern New Jersey Narcotic Officer of the Year. Detective Supervisor Atoche has been a valuable member of the MCPO Narcotics Task Force, and his work has resulted in numerous arrests, seizures and the dismantling of drug trafficking organizations.

The Morris County Narcotics Task Force was also recognized for their joint operations with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Newark Transnational Organized Crime Western Hemisphere Task Force, which has resulted in significant drug seizures and interruption of national and international drug trafficking.

The task force was recognized along with the Hanover Township Police Department for an investigation that resulted in six (6) arrests and the seizure of more than 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine.

Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Christoph Kimker and Deputy Chief Robert McNally congratulate Detective Supervisor Atoche and the members of the Special Enforcement Unit / Narcotics Task Force.

Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said, “The men and women of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the task force officers assigned to the Morris County Narcotics Task Force deservedly received this recognition for their cooperative efforts and significant results.   Without our partnerships amongst law enforcement agencies and Task Force Officers supplied by municipal agencies, our Narcotics Task Force would not have the success it does.”

Chief Kimker said, “I am impressed with all of the NJNEOA award recipients and the significant drug enforcement work being conducted throughout the state.  It was great to see members of the MCPO and our Narcotics Task Force be recognized by their peers.”
