Stemming The Rising Tide Of Opioid Abuse

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp announces that the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and the League of Women Voters Morristown Area will be hosting an event titled, A COMMUNITY CONVERSATION: STEMMING THE RISING TIDE OF OPIOID ABUSE.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Alexander Hamilton School, 24 Mills Street, Morristown, NJ. Sign in begins at 7:00 pm.

The conversation will center on the epidemic of Opioid abuse that plagues our communities and society as a whole, understanding how we are all affected, and the need for the community to unite in an effort to combat the problem. Prosecutor Knapp will give the opening remarks, which will be followed by a panel to facilitate discussion about this deadly issue impacting the community.

The Moderator will be Dr. Louise Murray, Vice President, Membership, League of Women Voters Morristown Area.

The four Panelists will include,

Honorable Joseph F. Vitale, New Jersey State Senator, State Senate Chair, Senate Health, Human Services & Senior Committee; Vice Chair, Senate Labor Committee.

Bradford C. Seabury, Chief Assistant Prosecutor, Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

Mae A. Hyre, M.D., D.M.D. Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, Charleston, West Virginia.

Steven Timko Executive Director, New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association.

This exceptional panel includes individuals who are very knowledgeable about the topic. We anticipate a productive discussion regarding the Opioid epidemic which confronts our community said Prosecutor Knapp.
