Suspect Sought in Multiple Armed Robberies

Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Chief Paul Philipps, and Rockaway Township Police Chief Walt Ardin, Jr. announce an active investigation into multiple armed robberies that occurred this morning in Parsippany, New Jersey and Rockaway Township, New Jersey. 
On May 9, 2014 at approximately 12:47am, the Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department received a 911 call regarding an armed robbery at the Marriott Fairfield Suites, located at 3535 US Highway 46 in Parsippany, New Jersey.  The actor involved in this armed robbery has been described as a black male, wearing a black knit hat, a dark grey jacket, and grey pants.  This actor is said to have entered the lobby and robbed an employee at gun point.     
Later that morning, at approximately 1:24am, the Rockaway Township Police Department received a 911 call regarding an armed robbery at the Rockaway Hotel, located at 14 Green Pond Road in Rockaway Township, New Jersey.  The actor involved in this armed robbery was reported to have entered the lobby and traveled behind the front desk, where he stole a sum of money from the register.  During the course of this armed robbery, the suspect was armed with a handgun.         
Law enforcement authorities have been able to collect surveillance footage from each of these incidents.  A review of this footage reveals that both robberies appear to have been committed by the same actor. 
Numerous law enforcement agencies have been involved with this on-going investigation, including the Major Crimes Unit of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, the Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department, the Rockaway Township Police Department, and the Morris County Sheriff's Office.
