The Morris County Bar Association held a retirement dinner for the Honorable Thomas V. Manahan, J.A.D. on September 26, 2018 at The Madison Hotel. Judge Manahan served in the Morris/Sussex Vicinage beginning in 2003 as a Superior Court Judge in the Criminal Division, the Family Division, the Civil Division, and the Appellate Division before his retirement in 2018. Prior to his time as a Judge, he served as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Union County Prosecutor's Office, as the Union County Prosecutor, and as an Assistant New Jersey Attorney General. Although Judge Manahan has retired from his position as a Superior Court Judge, he will continue his work as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Cornell Law School.
Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp and many members of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office attended the event to celebrate the wonderful career of Judge Manahan. Prosecutor Knapp presented Judge Manahan with a plaque commemorating his judicial service over the past 15 years in the Morris/Sussex Vicinage.
Prosecutor Knapp stated, Judge Manahan's presence in the Morris County Courthouse and our legal community will be sorely missed. He was a joy to work with and served as an inspiration and mentor to many young lawyers and law clerks throughout the course of his career.
