Firefighter 2 Intensive Hybrid

The Academy will be conducting an intensive seven-week Firefighter 2 Course. This course will meet the requirements of NFPA 1001 and the State of New Jersey. Classes will be held on Wednesday nights starting at 19:00 and Saturday days at 08:00. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory, there will be no absences permitted. During the course there will be eight on-line sessions through Jones & Bartlett. The recruit is required to complete any on-line content and quizzes during the assigned week. Written assignments, required during the class, will have specific due dates. Pre-Requisite certificates MUST be presented on the first night of class, no exceptions.

Pre-Requisites

The student must have a State of New Jersey DFS Firefighter 1 Certification
The student must have a DFS recognized ICS-200 Certification (In the absence of this no certificate will be awarded until proof of the IM Class)
The student must have a current Fit-Test record.

Reminder

This is an exceptionally physically challenging class. Students should be capable of performing the Essential Duties of a Firefighter as outlined in NFPA 1582.
Failing to attend a session, or failing to log in and complete a weekly assignment or failing to submit a written assignment will result in dismissal from the course, NO EXCEPTIONS
Accommodations for testing will be solely at the discretion of the Division of Fire Safety consistent with their codes and regulations.
- A member completing this course will receive a State of New Jersey Division of Fire Safety Certification for Firefighter 2 and Pro-Board / IFSAC Certification
Two Make-Up test dates have already been determined and will be the only two available test dates for this course.
