Digital Photography for Traffic Crash Investigators            40 hours

This comprehensive “hands-on” course addresses the unique characteristics of crash scene photography and will teach you how to properly photograph a crash scene, no matter what the size or environmental conditions.

We will show you valuable and timesaving techniques for quickly and accurately photographing the scene. And because much can be lost when the scene is cleared, you will learn the methods and settings to achieve the best results the first time.

“Hands-on” exercises photographing crash scenes and wrecked vehicles will accompany class lectures to give you a thorough working knowledge of your camera’s component parts and accessories. We will also explain the legal guidelines for archiving photographs and presenting photographic evidence in court.

  • Extra batteries for the camera and flash unit

  • Work clothes for outside activities (including inclement weather)
  • Camera manual
  • Remote shutter release cable or wireless remote
  • Circular polarizing filter that will fit your camera's lens (i.e. 52mm, 62mm, 72mm, etc.)
  • Laptop computer with administrative privileges
