Police Carbine Instructor

This three-day course is for current firearm instructors who would like to become Police Carbine Instructors. This course will include Operational Safety and the Police Carbine, policy development on patrol weapon supplements, carbine shooting techniques, carbine nomenclature and live fire drills. The course will conclude with qualifications on the N.J. Attorney General’s Carbine Qualification Course (Day & Night).

Pre-Requisite: All attendees must be qualified firearm instructors and successfully completed a state approved firearm instructor course. Proof of same must accompany Academy registration.

Required Equipment and Dress:

  • Carbine Rifle – a rifle which fires a handgun round.
  • At least 3 magazines
  • Carbine Rifle User Manual
  • 1000 Rounds of ball ammunition
  • Department issued sling if used
  • Cleaning Equipment
  • Eye and Ear protection
  • A baseball style hat
  • Note taking instruments
  • Department’s Carbine Policy
  • Duty handgun and related gear
  • 50 rounds ball ammunition for handgun
  • Knee and elbow protection optional

Class size is limited to 12.

Net 30 days from the end of training course. Past due add 1.5% per month or any part of a month. $35 charged assessed on any return check. Cancellations must be made 10 day prior to class date.
