Sex Crime Investigation

This four-day course is designed to provide an overview of the functions of the Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.  This course will identify the types of cases handled by the Unit and explain the criteria for reporting suspected incidents of abuse.  Geared primarily for the municipal police department detective, this course will cover a variety of topics that will assist the officer to more effectively investigate allegations of sexual and physical abuse. 

 Class size is limited at 35.

  • Suspect Interviewing Techniques
  • Utilization of Consensual Intercepts
  • Drug Facilitated Sexual Assaults
  • Computer/Internet Investigations
  • Role of the S.A.R.T./S.A.N.E. Program
  • Role of the Division of Youth and Family Services
  • Megan’s Law Training
