Telecommunicator Training NECI 911 "Suicide Calls"

The purpose of this course is to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to properly handle suicidal callers. The course is designed to inform the 9-1-1 Dispatcher about the suicidal mind and specific courses of action when confronted with a suicide call.

Performance Objectives

Upon completion of this block of instruction, the student will be able to:

1. Understanding common myths about suicide

2. Understand the answers to frequently asked questions about suicidal people

3. Understanding suicide

4. Understanding suicidal people

5. Demonstrate how to effectively handle a suicide call
