Telecommunicator's Training- 911 Basic 40 Hour Course

This is a 40-hour program produced by International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED). The Emergency Telecommunicator is an essential component of any effective public safety response system.

This course provides introductory training for a wide range of concepts and skills needed to successfully work in a public safety communication center.

Topics include:

  • Roles and responsibilities of an ETC
  • Emergency telecommunication technologies
  • Telecommunication techniques
  • Call management techniques
  • Disaster readiness
  • Radio broadcast procedures
  • Legal concerns associated with emergency telecommunications
  • The importance of quality improvement, and stress management techniques.

 

This course is approved by NJ OETS for Basic Telecommunicator Certification.

 

 Class size is limited to 25.

Note:  Academy dress code is in effect for this course.
