Soil Conservation District

Our mission is to conserve soil and protect our waterways for future generations.

This is achieved through two programs:

Soil Erosion & Sediment Control – working with property owners, contractors and engineers, regulating construction and development sites, ensuring soil retention, safety, and minimizing run-off in our waterways

Agricultural Conservation Program – working with farmers, providing conservation plans/technical assistance to help them retain and enrich their soils, manage drainage, and enhance the productivity of their farms.

Additionally, we provide outreach and education programs for our stakeholders, who include construction professionals, farmers, engineers, state/local government, and high school students participating in the annual Envirothon.
