Apply for a Morris County Distinguished Service Medal

The Morris County Board of County Commissioners wishes to commemorate all veterans who served honorably in the United States Military by presenting the Distinguished Service Medal to eligible Morris County Residents.

To qualify, you must be:

  1. Honorably discharged from the United States Armed Services
  2. A current or former resident of Morris County

Step 1.Fill out the application

You can fill it out on your behalf, or on the behalf of another veteran.

Submit the application along with a copy of the veteran's discharge papers (DD-214/member 4-copy).

Step 2.Next steps

Your application will be reviewed by the Veterans Service Officer and sent to the Board of Commissioners.

We will contact you over the phone and/or email. If you let us know on the application form that you want to participate in a County ceremony, we'll let you know the ceremony date.

If you want to participate in a County ceremony, please fill out our Veterans Biography form. This form asks for your name, hometown, details about your military service, community involvement, and anything else we might want to mention during the ceremony.

Ask a representative at the front desk you are interested in an application for a Morris County Distinguished Service Medal Award.
