2026 General Election
November 3, 2026
- September 19: Commencement of Mailing of Mail-in Ballots for General Election

October 13: On or before this date, applications for appointment of Challengers for the General Election shall be filed with the County Board of Elections.

October 21: Mailing of Sample Ballots.

October 24 - November 1: Early voting period for early In-Person Voting.

October 27: Last day to apply for a Mail-in Ballot application (formerly civilian absentee ballot) by mail for the General Election. (This is for those who have moved within Morris County, or did not receive a Mail-in ballot.)

November 2 - by 3:00 pm: Last day to apply for a Mail-in Ballot application (formerly civilian absentee ballot) in-person for the General Election. (This is for those who have moved within Morris County, or did not receive a Mail-in ballot.)

November 3: General Election Day.
- Polls open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- In-person Mail-in ballots must be returned to the Board of Elections or deposited in an Official Ballot Drop Box by 8 p.m.
- Mail-in ballots sent by United States Postal Service must be postmarked on or before Tuesday, November 3rd, and received by Monday, November 9th. Mail-in ballots sent by United States Postal Service without a postmark must be received at the Board of Elections office by Thursday, November 5th.
