Primary Election

June 6, 2023

  • April 22: Commencement of mailing of Mail-in ballots for the Primary Election.

  • May 16: Last day to register to vote for the Primary Election.

  • May 23: On or before this date, applications for appointment of Challengers for Primary Election shall be filed with the County Board of Elections.

  • May 30: Last day to apply for a Mail-in Ballot application (formerly civilian absentee ballot) by mail for the Primary Election. (This is for those who have moved within Morris County, or did not receive a Mail-in ballot.)

  • May 31: Mailing of Sample Ballots.

  • June 2 - June 4: Early voting period for early In-Person Voting.

  • June 5 - by 3:00 pm: Last day to apply for a Mail-in Ballot application (formerly civilian absentee ballot) in-person for the Primary Election. (This is for those who have moved within Morris County, or did not receive a Mail-in ballot.)

  • June 6: Primary Election Day.

  • Polls open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • In-person Mail-in ballots must be returned to the Board of Elections or deposited in an Official Ballot Drop Box by 8 p.m.

  • Mail-in ballots sent by United States Postal Service must be postmarked on or before Tuesday, June 6th, and received by Monday, June 12th.
