2026 Primary Election
June 2, 2026
- April 18: Commencement of Mailing of Mail-in Ballots for Primary Election

May 12: On or before this date, applications for appointment of Challengers for Primary Election shall be filed with the County Board of Elections.

May 20: Mailing of Sample Ballots.

May 26 - May 31: Early voting period for early In-Person Voting.

May 26: Last day to apply for a Mail-in Ballot application (formerly civilian absentee ballot) by mail for the Primary Election. (This is for those who have moved within Morris County, or did not receive a Mail-in ballot.)

June 1 - by 3:00 pm: Last day to apply for a Mail-in Ballot application (formerly civilian absentee ballot) in-person for the Primary Election. (This is for those who have moved within Morris County, or did not receive a Mail-in ballot.)

June 2: Primary Election Day.
- Polls open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- In-person Mail-in ballots must be returned to the Board of Elections or deposited in an Official Ballot Drop Box by 8 p.m.
- Mail-in ballots sent by United States Postal Service must be postmarked on or before Tuesday, June 2nd, and received by Monday, June 8th. Mail-in ballots sent by United States Postal Service without a postmark must be received at the Board of Elections office by Thursday, June 4th.
