REGISTRATION OF VOTERS IN MORRIS COUNTY
PRIMARY ELECTION - TUESDAY, JUNE 2, 2026
THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER/TRANSFER REGISTRATION FOR THE PRIMARY ELECTION IS:
Tuesday, May 12, 2026

In compliance with New Jersey Election Law, the Morris County Board of Elections Administrator, Dale A. Kramer, wishes to remind all residents of Morris County that in order to vote in the June 2, 2026 Primary Election, you must be a registered voter by Tuesday, May 12, 2026 – Legal Deadline for Registration (N.J.S.A. 19:31-6.)
The office of the Morris County Board of Elections located on the second floor of the Administration and Records Building on 10 Court Street in Morristown, NJ will remain open on Tuesday, May 12th, from 8:30 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. to accommodate residents who need to register to vote or change their address.
Forms are also available at any Municipal Clerk’s office. Please contact your Municipal Clerk’s office for hours of operation.
VOTING REQUIREMENTS
To vote in Morris County, you must be: a citizen of the United States, a resident of New Jersey and Morris County 30 days before the election. You are at least 17 years of age, but cannot vote until the age of 18, except that you may vote in the June 2nd Primary Election if you are 17 years old and will be 18 years old at the time of the following General Election on November 3, 2026. You are NOT currently serving a sentence of incarceration due to a conviction of an indictable offense under the laws of this or another state or of the United States. You must also complete and return a voter registration form by May 12, 2026.
ONLINE VOTER REGISTRATION
Anyone wishing to register to vote online can visit the New Jersey Division of Elections website www.nj.gov/state/elections - NJ Voter Information Portal. A driver’s license/non-driver ID card OR a Social Security number is required.
REGISTRATION BY MAIL
Anyone wishing to register by mail may request a voter registration form from the Board of Elections by calling (973) 285-6715 weekdays from 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. You may also download the form at www.elections.morriscountynj.gov or the New Jersey Division of Elections website www.nj.gov/state/elections.
REGISTER AT YOUR LOCAL MOTOR VEHICLE COMMISSION (MVC) OFFICE
You can also register to vote at your local Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) office while applying for or renewing a driver’s license or non-driver ID card.
TRANSFER OF REGISTRATION
A voter who is registered to vote in one district of Morris County and who moved his/her residence to another part of Morris County, must transfer their registration to their new address by May 12, 2026 to assure that he/she will be able to vote in the proper election district without being required to take additional steps. This can be accomplished by informing the Board of Elections office in writing. Such notice shall be signed by each voter. Change of Residence\Change of Name can be made on a Voter Registration Application; it may be obtained by calling (973) 285-6715 or by visiting www.elections.morriscountynj.gov. A voter who has moved within Morris County, after the registration deadline is eligible to vote in the voting district of their NEW residence by a Provisional Ballot at their new polling location. A voter who has moved out of Morris County must register in the County of their new residence to be eligible to vote.
