Stormwater Infrastructure Mapping Underway Along County Roadways

The County of Morris will begin stormwater infrastructure mapping along county roadways in Mount Olive Township starting Friday, May 22. The mapping is being conducted by Aqualis on behalf of the county to meet requirements of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Highway Agency Permit.

Morris County Holds Memorial Day Observance in Nation’s 250th Year

Nine local veterans were presented Morris County Distinguished Military Service Medals by the Morris County Board of County Commissioners at the county’s annual Memorial Day Observance yesterday outside the historic Morris County Courthouse in Morristown.
The ceremony included a special tribute to Continental Army soldiers who lost their lives at Jockey Hollow nearly 250 years ago.

On the morning of THURSDAY, MAY 21, the Morris County Courthouse Complex, including the Administration & Records Building and 30 Schuyler Place, will be closed to the public until 11 a.m. due to a scheduled emergency preparedness drill.

Morris County Honors National Police Week 2026

The Morris County Board of County Commissioners formally recognized National Police Week and Peace Officers Memorial Day during its public meeting this evening, when Commissioner Director Stephen Shaw presented a proclamation to Sheriff James Gannon honoring the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers across the county and the nation.

Morris County Honors Seniors Enlisting in U.S. Armed Forces

Morris County Commissioner Director Stephen H. Shaw joined Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) President Michael Avaltroni, state, local and military officials, and community representatives last week at FDU’s Florham campus to honor 90 high school seniors from the Class of 2026 who have enlisted in the U.S. armed forces.
