Description

This position is an entry level clerical position requiring excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to details and understanding the importance of confidentiality. The successful candidate is a team player with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and be self-motivated. The position involves working with the public, members of the Judiciary and their staff, as well as community health providers. The job will entail preparing and reviewing sensitive and confidential legal documents concerning the admission and/or civil commitment of individuals to private, county and state psychiatric hospitals, scheduling court hearings, and assisting with other duties of the County Adjuster's Office including the investigation of residency status and ability to pay for hospitalization, organization and daily filing of confidential healthcare records and other administrative tasks.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing sensitive and confidential legal documents concerning the admission and/or civil commitment of individuals to private, county and state psychiatric hospitals
  • Scheduling court hearings
  • assisting with other duties of the County Adjusterʼs Office including the investigation of residency status and ability to pay for hospitalization, organization and daily filing of confidential healthcare records and other administrative tasks.
  • The ability to accurately input data into the various database systems is also an extremely important aspect of this position.

Qualifications

This position requires a working knowledge of Word, Excel and the ability to understand and/or learn other programs utilized within the County such as MS Teams and eCourts.
